Aim & Scope

Digital Archiving and Preservation

The content of Trends in Pediatrics is archived through the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), which provides permanent archiving for academic journals. PKP PN utilizes the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) program to ensure decentralized and distributed preservation of content. This program guarantees continuous access to the original and unaltered version of the journal, ensuring long-term access. Trends in Pediatrics is an open access journal. All articles are published under the terms of th Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY), which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium or format, provided the original work is properly cited. Authors retain copyright of their published article. Open access ensures more reuse and citation, higher visibility and discoverability, greater engagement, immediate impact, increased interdisciplinary work and wider collaboration.

Trends in Pediatrics adopts the Open Access Declaration published by the Budapest Open Access Initiative in February, 2002:

“By ‘open access’ to this [research] literature, we mean its free availability on the public internet, permitting any users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of these articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without financial, legal, or technical barriers other than those inseparable from gaining access to the internet itself.
